Wolfe Lenkiewicz

An installation of sound, film projection and 40 free standing light boxes. variations on the theme of the hangman.

Less about the human violence, it explores the idea of the human figure suspended, object - like, held in an indeterminate state. suspended animation. the figure is a pendulum stopped between movement / stillness ( death ) ; light / dark .

The movement is freed from any implication of anatomical animation. the configuration of geometric shapes that constitutes the hangman breathes / pulses into new configurations through the time frame of the film .

T
his respiration of forms expresses a grave meditation: a base - line ebbing between life and death .
