Saturday 18th October 2pm - 5pm [Introductory talk 2pm]
Sunday 19th October 12pm - 5pm
A continuous 16mm projection of Larry Jordan's 'Sophie's Place'
[84 min., 1983-87, USA]
Butterflies rain out of umbrellas onto Landscapes by Fuseli, Blake
and Doré as coloured balls caress the disembodied head
of Sophia, the goddess of wisdom.
Larry Jordan's rarely seen masterpiece is shown here for the first
time in 10 years. As cocteau's Orphee took us through mirrors
into the enigmas of the imagination, Jordan takes us through the
screen into the nodes of the supersymbolic.
